We just returned from a lovely Christmas in Kirkland Lake with Diane's brother and family. David (Diane's brother) and Vern (David's wife) have a new baby - Ethan Francis born Sept 15th 2010...so Ethan and Eden hung out a lot (doing infant stuff)...while the rest of the family ate and played games. We had a great time with the whole Charron family!
Now we are back in Sault STe Marie getting the final things together for our trip.
Details: We fly out of Detroit to Guatemala on January 12th. We'll be visiting Heath's family from January 7th to 11th in Leamington, Ontario.
Please keep our health in mind and in your prayers. Eden is now sick with a cough (probably the same cold Seth had) and Seth seems to have gotten over the pneumonia. Our family doctor has been AMAZING in making sure that everyone is healthy as we leave for Guate. Both kids have doctor appointments right before we fly out.
That's the update for now!
:) Bishops
Heath and Diane Bishop will be keeping in touch with friends and family via this blog while their family is in Guatemala.

Bishop Trip to Guatemala
The count down begins! 42 days to Guatemala. January 11th 2011 to March 22nd 2011 we will be living and volunteering in a small town in Guatemala.
Here are the brief details and we will add more soon!
Heath and I are going to serve in Guatemala with Global Shore (http://www.globalshore.org/). We will be going with our kids and all ... hoping to do what we can to be a benefit. We hope to live what we say we believe and show this to our children ... Seth (age 3) and Eden (2 months).
We will be helping in a school and helping with the new school building (painting? digging? anything needed).
Global Shore is an organization that has built homes for families in need in Guatemala among many many other practical projects. The school through Global Shore - Colegio Cristiano Avivando el Fuego - is a Christian school that provides free education to any children in Guatemala. The teachers are locals and I (Diane) will be helping them develop their literacy program.
Sometimes our North American life style gets so caught up in materials and selfishness that we forget to put God and other people first in our lives. So off to Guate we go!!!
More details to come soon.
